I’m a work in progress, but I do all I can to live a life that honors these two verses:
- Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)
- I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27)
I embrace that I’m a dork and a bundle of contradictions. I don’t always know the right things to say, I’m clumsy, I forget things and get lost all the time, I’m much more comfortable conversing with characters in literature than I am with other human beings, I laughed out loud before it was trendy, I eat a lot – no really, a LOT…The other side of me (see professional) is very composed, organized, confident and a threat-in-stilettos.
This new blog is an opportunity to express myself as a “hope pusher”, an educator, a child of God, a person who cares about my fellow human beings, an entrepreneur (I am currently launching the Social Etiquette Institute and I am the founder of EVERYTHING Interracial and Intercultural™ (EIRIC™) and Made in the World™), a reader, a traveler, a hiker, a Brooklynite, a Haitian, a reluctant Jersey resident, a black woman, a
soon-to-be 30 31 year old, a wife, a scared-to-be potential mother, a researcher, half of an interracial couple, a lover of shoes, a nature lover, a city lover, an older and younger sister, a fatherless daughter, a procrastinator, a stickler for manners, a contradiction, an insomniac, one who hopes for the best, but prepares for the worst, eco-conscious, and any other category that I find myself under. I’m here just as much to listen and learn as I am to share.
I hope you’ll take the journey with me.
